So Much Storage! Laundry Cart Options You Can Buy

Last week, Wyatt shared his plans for our custom laundry cart. And yes, I still go in there and stare at it with stars in my eyes. And while I 100% think that was the right way for us, I know sometimes DIY isn’t an option, so if you wanted to just buy a similar cart, there are several good options on Amazon that are reasonably priced that we considered before going the #DIwYatt route.

DIwYatt: Build Your Own Laundry Room Cart

We’ve been using our “new” laundry room for over a year and Melissa is still just as crazy about the updates we made, specifically the shelf above the washer and the pull out cabinet/drawer in between the washer. So, it’s probably time to write the how-to post for all those updates. Especially because we’ve gotten a few requests recently to see how we made it. I’ve written out the plan I followed, but remember that

10 Easy and Affordable Ways to Take a Step Toward Greener Living

Earth Day is a day we sometimes “celebrate” with a social media post or trip to the home improvement store’s garden center and then pass by on the way to bigger and brighter holidays. We learned about reducing, reusing, and recycling in school, but I have found myself feeling a little overwhelmed by a lot of the common steps I hear about whenever I look into sustainable living. I’m certainly not an expert, but I

How to Make Any Room Feel Cozier? Add a Round Rug!

I’ve gotten some questions about whether minimizing a room makes it feel less cozy. And honestly, I’d say no. Maybe. Sometimes. Ha! But, being intentional about the items in a room can certainly still leave a room feeling cozy, but calm. And one of my favorite tricks I’ve used recently in both of our kids’ rooms is to add a small round rug to anchor a space and add a layer of texture, which adds

Our 2020 Home Goals

Well, I’ve had this post written except for a few of the last goals for several, several weeks now, and then…well, life got pretty crazy, as you all know, I’m sure. i almost decided to just scrap the idea of home goals this year. But, even in the midst of all the unknowns, we do still know that there are things we want to accomplish around here, and I welcome the distraction from some of

2019 Home Goal Recap

Well, it’s March, so I figure it’s time to share an update on our 2019 Home Goals, right? Of course, I didn’t post them until March 13 last year, so even though we’re late for a year-recap, we’re still a couple of weeks early in terms of being 12 months after we decided on what we were planning to work on for the year. Maybe next year, we’ll be all the way caught up and

DIY Dry Erase Maze Card Valentines – Allergy Friendly and Sugar Free! 😉

Well, we’re a week out from Valentine’s Day and you know what that means…I’m a week early getting Will’s Valentine’s ready. ;)Who am I?Just kidding. They aren’t ALL done.  Just enough of them to take these pictures. (#reallife) We have fun choosing something that he’s really into and working together to DIY the little gifts for the kids in his class. I may feel differently about that when he has 30+ kids in his class someday, but for now, it’s only around 12 usually. So not a big deal. And it’s fun! (Plus, it’s sugar free and allergy friendly, which is something I also really appreciate!)I got this awesome set of dry-erase maze cards, from Usborne Books & More, because Will is super into mazes right now. He’s only four and these are rated for kids around 5 or 6, but I know with help reading the instructions and explaining what he needs to do, these will still be doable for him. Maybe with a little help. But I’m usually impressed by how fast he goes through a maze so I like that these will challenge him a bit. And we usually use stuff like this when we’re sitting at a restaurant or doctor’s office needing to pass the time so we could help him if needed.

Magic Painting – Sugar Free and Allergy Friendly Valentine Free Printable

Valentine’s Day is coming up…and that often means a LOT of candy. While I love chocolate as much as anyone, including my kids, I still tend to favor non-candy Valentines for our kids to give to their friends at school. True, I try to limit our kids’ sugar, but it’s also close to my heart now as a #foodallergymom, that not every kid can have every treat. Thankfully, there aren’t eggs in many types of

DIY Paper Airplane Valentines – Allergy Friendly and Sugar Free! 😉

It’s Valentine time! I know kids love getting Valentine treats filled with candy and other sweets, but as a mom who usually limits our kids’ sugar, (and now, a #foodallergymom, I always appreciate a non-food option so I try to send our kids with something that is friendly to kids who have those restrictions, too. And, you know we’re all about the creative activities over here (my Will is the Project King, for sure!) so

Will’s Big Kid Colorful Bedroom Plans

Well, Will’s room is almost done, so it seems fitting that I share my plans for that little revamp, right? (Yes, I know it’s a bit late, but for the sake of my feelings, just go with it, okay?) Right! So, anyway…my ideas to turn Will’s nursery into a big kid room have been all over the place, really, but we (as in Will and me, not Wyatt and me–Wyatt is fine with pretty much
