2020 Home Goals Recap

I finally have a project update for you on how we did with all of our 2020 home goals! Yes, I know it’s already the end of February, but that’s still almost a month ahead of when I did our 2019 review last year, so…let’s keep things in perspective and say we actually did all of this in 11 months, which is pretty impressive, right…AND, I’m actually ahead of where I was last year, ok?

How to Paint Laminate Ikea Cabinets (Without a paint sprayer!)

I already shared our finished office nook on Instagram and today I’m going to give you the behind-the-scenes look at how we took basic (laminate) Ikea cabinets and made them a bit more special. Moody and modern? Trendy? Or just fun. However you want to look at it. There are some great tutorials already out there for painting Ikea cabinets, many of which I read before having the confidence to try this, but most of

All the FRIENDS Christmas Episodes In order & ranked! (And the PERFECT holiday shirt for this year!)

Ok, last night, Wyatt and I had our annual FRIENDS holiday date night with takeout and a few hours on the couch enjoying one of our treasured non-kid holiday traditions. (Yes, those still exist in the post-kid world!) Of course, I also had to have my new binge-worthy FRIENDS holiday shirt for the occasion. I mean, isn’t it the perfect shirt for how the holidays seem sometimes after a hard year…especially THIS year? Seriously!! (Grab

Creating Calm at Christmas

This post was written as part of a paid partnership and contains affiliate links. They don’t cost you anything to use–and they help support our blog!) Ok, I know this post may be controversial because I’ve seen so many photos of people’s homes all decorated on social media lately…and no one ever seems to say what I’m thinking, but I’m just going to say it, anyway. Sometimes holiday decor stresses me out a little bit.

Our (HONEST!) Experience With FloorPops Stick On Tile

As promised, here is my full review of using the stick on tiles for our basement bathroom. I’ve been waiting to see how they held up. It’s now been about 2 months and they are looking great, still! (Easy to clean, too!) We used the FloorPops brand and I have linked them at the end of this post since so many of you asked about this process so scroll down if that’s why you’re here.

Classic (With a Funky Blue Toilet!) Basement Bathroom

The basement bathroom is almost finished and before we finalize everything we’ve been working on, I wanted to share some of the inspiration that led to the design plan for our $200 bathroom upgrade. Yep, we had a very small budget for this room and big goals. Here’s where we were starting from. Goals: Change the dingy brown floor. This one is not our style, not very fun, and not very new or clean. Paint

DIwYatt: Modern Plant Stands

Melissa has been asking me for some plant stands for a while, but several weeks ago, she finally gave me some more direction and I decided to spend a Saturday working on these. Then it took another month or so for us to get this up on the blog for you all, but this should be a pretty simple tutorial and a fun little project if you want to make your own! Melissa has already

DIwYatt: Building a Shelf in the Laundry Room

Finishing up the last of our custom laundry room cabinetry posts with instructions for how I did the shelf above the washer and dryer for the fully built in look that Melissa wanted. I’ve already shared how to build your own custom laundry cabinet cart, HERE, and this project is probably even easier than that one, so it’s a great way to make a big change in a small space. A shelf above the washer

So Much Storage! Laundry Cart Options You Can Buy

Last week, Wyatt shared his plans for our custom laundry cart. And yes, I still go in there and stare at it with stars in my eyes. And while I 100% think that was the right way for us, I know sometimes DIY isn’t an option, so if you wanted to just buy a similar cart, there are several good options on Amazon that are reasonably priced that we considered before going the #DIwYatt route.

DIwYatt: Build Your Own Laundry Room Cart

We’ve been using our “new” laundry room for over a year and Melissa is still just as crazy about the updates we made, specifically the shelf above the washer and the pull out cabinet/drawer in between the washer. So, it’s probably time to write the how-to post for all those updates. Especially because we’ve gotten a few requests recently to see how we made it. I’ve written out the plan I followed, but remember that
