It’s Valentine time!

I know kids love getting Valentine treats filled with candy and other sweets, but as a mom who usually limits our kids’ sugar, (and now, a #foodallergymom, I always appreciate a non-food option so I try to send our kids with something that is friendly to kids who have those restrictions, too.

And, you know we’re all about the creative activities over here (my Will is the Project King, for sure!) so I love coming up with something that suits whatever his favorite things are each year, for example, paper airplanes!

I got this awesome book, Paper Planes to Fly and Fold, from Usborne Books & More, a year or so ago and Will loves it! He is always asking dad to make him an airplane, and we’ve started to work on him helping, although most of the techniques are a bit advanced for him. Still, he loves to fly them, and when we gave these to friends as Valentines, so many other kids had a blast with these, too!

The book itself is only $7.99 and I made the printable so this was a really affordable way to give something fun and unique!

I packaged these by stacking five sheets from our favorite paper airplane book into a quart-size zipper bag and folding the printable sheet with the little message on it over the top. I added a piece of tape to each side to hold it in place and it was good to go! SUPER EASY and very affordable.

You could also forget the bags and use a little clothes pin or paper clip, but since I had a 2-year-old handing these out, I knew I wanted everything to be contained.

I even made a little graphic that explains one way to fold the airplanes for the back once you fold the sheet over the top of the bags.

There are also three different designs, so you can choose which is your favorite and make them all match, or you can have a variety!

Here’s the link to grab that book! (you can choose your favorite from the “fold and fly” series!”
