I hate vacuuming.

It’s loud and heavy and awkward the cord is a pain and while I like having clean floors, they get messed up again so much faster than my motivation to drag the vacuum back out and do the whole process again.

So, I hardly ever vaccum and our floors show it. Crumbs and dust bunnies everywhere.

But less so now because of our Eufy vacuum, which runs all on its own every morning after breakfast. Today, the version we have is on sale for less than $150 and it’s totally worth it in my opinion.

It’s relatively quiet (much quieter than our regular vacuum), and it gets along edges and corners decently well and even has little spinning brushes that help sweep things out of hard to reach places, but it’s still round so some dust bunnies do still collect in tight corners where we have furniture blocked it a little bit. So while I don’t think it will mean you never have to vaccum again, it will help a lot.

Wyatt and Will appreciate the remote control feature that lets us drive it around (either to help it find its way home faster, to get to a certain messy spot in the room right away, or just for fun) and it has a few different features on the remote in terms of the motion and speed.

It doesn’t have any major bells and whistles (it doesn’t have a self emptying station or room-mapping feature like some higher priced models–though they do have other Eufy robot vacuums that do offer those) but we wanted something simple.

One bonus benefit we didn’t really expect is that because it runs every day, it gives our kids great motivation to make sure their little toys are picked up (so they don’t let Eufy suck up any Lego, for instance!) on a regular basis. It has helped with chores a lot more than I ever imagined. And, another bonus benefit is that kids love to watch this thing–it’s a hit for all ages! We totally underestimated the entertainment value.

Now, even with all that glowing praise, does that mean Eufy never gets into trouble around here? I’ll let this post fill you in on that.

But…once you figure out its triggers and troublespots (cords, small bathrooms it gets inself stuck in because it pushes the door closed, etc.) then it’s totally worth it! You also need to spend some time finding the best place for the base. We have ours under the old church pew in our kitchen and the chairs create a bit of an obstacle course to get it back home sometimes. It’s also on the far end of our house so if he runs out of battery in the kids’ rooms on the opposite side on the house, it can take him a loooooong time to find his way back home.

Also, it’s not magic…you do still have to clean out the brush if you have long hair that sheds. Emma and I are both contributing to this problem, but it’s just as bad on our regular vacuum so at least this way, it’s getting cleaner every day. And…it came with extra brushes and bristles.

Even though I’m sharing affiliate links in this post, we first bought this with our own money and I signed up for their program when I saw them on our network! CLICK HERE to see this Eufy 11S and more vacuum options!
