Well, we actually have some progress to report this week. Nothing very exciting in terms of reveal pictures, but it’s still exciting for us.

The ceiling is officially done (scraped, mudded, sanded, painted) and the walls have two coats of primer and have been mudded to repair the holes and other dents/holes in them.

I also ordered a light fixture this week. It’s a little safe and a little fun. Or maybe just a little odd, but I think I’ll like it. It won’t draw your eye too much because it is white on a white ceiling, but if you do look up and see it, I like the subtle geometric vibe it has. home depot light

Plus it was super affordable. You can check it out here. (We got the large size, but there is also a smaller one.)

In other news, we have had to bring the washer and dryer in and out of the laundry room twice for laundry after some puking incidents. I guess that’s just one of the hazards of the gig.

I will say that I am excited that even with just our little work light, it’s already brighter in there because of the white walls and having the popcorn off the ceiling. I know it doesn’t seem like it would make a big difference but the popcorn really does make so many more shadows and just makes rooms feel darker and heavier. So worth it to have that gone!

You can read all about our process of removing popcorn ceilings here. (It’s actually really easy!)

Next week I’ll hopefully have nicer photos to share of some things actually in the room! Although I already know I’ll be frustrated because it is going to be so hard to get a good photo of this space. Maybe I’ll do a little diagram of the room so you can see how tiny it really is.  I can’t believe we’re already in the final weeks!
