So, I made our stockings a few days ago, and they were fine, pretty good for my first ever sewing machine adventure. However, I thought they needed a little something else, so I set to work making some decorations for them out of yarn.
Using the technique I told you about here on how to make yarn-wrapped wooden letters, I cut out an “M” and “W” from some scrap cardboard and wrapped them up in some still-leftover red yarn. (Turns out when you aren’t actually knitting, yarn lasts a long time, especially when you buy the value-size!)
Then I made a few extra yarn pom-poms, like I did for this garland.
Then I sewed those all on to each stocking to give them a little more character.
Much better than the plain ones, no?
Also, for those of you keeping track, here’s how the Christmas list currently looks. I added a few “to-do’s” at the bottom that aren’t really craft or decor related, but still, they should be accounted for somewhere.
