Technically, this won’t be used just for mugs. It will also be used for cans, glasses, remotes, newspapers, and whatever else Hubs needs nearby.

But let me back up and explain.

Hubs has been complaining for awhile now that he needs an end table on “his end” of the love seat. He doesn’t like that he doesn’t have a good place for setting his drink.

So, he took my 25-cent garage sale stool

and the free floor tile we found in the dumpster.

Makeshift End Table

Not too bad, although it’s also not too good. Still, I guess it does what it needs to.

Hubs is loving it, since it provides a closer resting point for his glass than the lamp and the hearth.

Still, this is motivation to stat thinking more seriously about finding something more permanent for him to use over there. Nothing like an ugly table created by an impatient husband to get you motivated for a shopping trip, huh?

Ever created a makeshift table from stuff you found for free? Or ever given up after asking and asking your significant other for something (like an end table) so you just make it out of random scraps from around the house?
