I’m “giving up” on the parsley I’ve so lovingly grown since February.
Here’s a recap of posts for you: Planting, Growing, Success.
Let me explain.
For about a month, the parsley hasn’t really grown. It’s still trying to grow, at least I think it is, but sadly, it seems to get more brown and less green every day.
Wyatt’s theory is that I started too many seeds in my little pot and now they are competing with each other too much so they can’t grow. Another possibility is that I trimmed too much off at one point and stunted the growth.
We found a replacement to plant at Westlake’s, on sale for 1.89, and since it’s way bigger than the originally has ever been, and a lot darker green, I’d say it’s a good investment.
Not that I wasn’t happy with the parsley we grew from seed, because I’ve so enjoyed watching it grow over the past few months, I just think it was time to give in and get a little more power with this very handy herb.
I just wanted to use it more than this slow-growing guy could sustain.
Making the switch was a quick and easy transplant job. Now, I’m hoping to find a place to plant the old little one outside so he can maybe continue to grow and thrive out there. I haven’t settled on an exact location yet, though. So, for now, he’s just living in the pot the new one came out of.
And the new parsley seems to be loving life in our kitchen windowsill. I hope he makes it.
I’m off to do some more research of trimming and using fresh herbs (how much to trim/water, etc.) but in the meantime, if you have any tips, feel free to share!
What are you planting, replacing, or giving an upgrade to? What about giving up? Or not giving up? I recently signed up for a marathon (a real, 26.2 mile marathon!) and I’m scared, but Hubs is helping to encourage me into believing I won’t need to give up on this goal. Have something to say on any of the above? Let’s discuss!
I finally planted my tomatoes tonight. The old one will probably do great outside.
I am with Wyatt on the Marathon, I have no doubt you will do it.
Thanks!
