Generic wall art is something I fight against whenever possible. I knew I could go out and buy several pieces for the nursery, but then I always feel like I missed an opportunity to create something really meaningful. Oftentimes, that means I end up waiting a long time to find or create something special for every room. I decided on a gallery wall, made up of a combination of free prints I found online, thrifted items, and original creations. One of those original designs is the It’s a Wonderful World print.

The song is a great one for a nursery because of the sense of hope it conveys. Plus, my dad used to sing it using his Louis Armstrong voice that always made me smile.

And the ending is awesome because it reminds me of one of my favorite Disney movies, Aristocats, when Duchess is tucking in the kittens and they sleepily sing a reprise of Everybody Wants to Be a Cat.

It’s really just a sweet lullaby full of happy memories for me and I thought it would be nice to include it for Beanie’s gallery wall.

Our printer was running low on ink when I printed this one, so it ended up having a striped look, even though the design is solid colors. I’m planning to reprint it, but in case Beanie comes before that happens, at least we have this one in there. Any Wyatt actually kind of liked the stripes.
