Things are moving along in the giant kitchen remodel project…although not all things are moving along as fast as I’d hoped.
On the one hand, we have a delivery date scheduled for our cabinets. It’s in three weeks. Yikes. That’s obviously on the short end of the 4-6 week estimate we received prior to ordering the cabinets.
I was also surprised to return home last week on Friday and see our sink sitting at the front door.
(I was a little surprised such an expensive item was just left outside with no one to sign for it or anything…but on the other hand, it was a really big box that I struggled to move into the house by myself (Wyatt wasn’t home from Canada yet) so I doubt anyone would have stolen it and I’m sure it wouldn’t have blown away.)
So even if our part of the project is moving slowly…we still have LOTS of little things, and big things, to tackle before we’re ready to install cabinets…it’s good to at least start seeing pieces of the puzzle come together.
I have to say I got pretty darn excited when we opened the box and saw this bad boy, just ready and waiting to be installed. Me-ow!
Note: yes the sink looks huge. Yes, that’s both exciting and scary. We’re making a pretty big sink upgrade with this remodel so I’m excited to see how much more awesome it feels to wash dishes that actually fit in our sink. (We talked about picking this sink out, here.)
The faucet was also delivered and looks awesome.
Meanwhile, all of this is taking up a large, large portion of our living room right now. Yikes.
Anyway, we were pretty excited to see such a large purchase already delivered. After all, the sink is a big part of a kitchen and that helps us visualize the end goal while we’re stuck here in the beginning stages.
Ever gotten a new sink? What was the best part for you? Were you scared when you saw how large it was once it was out of the box? I was so surprised by how large it looked that I made Wyatt go measure and see if it would still fit!
Neat-looking sink!
Thanks! We’re excited about it.
Wow, it ones look big. Cant wait to see it installed.
Me too!
