This weekend, we did two important things.

1. We got our taxes ready to file. I’m not proud of the fact we waited this long, but I suppose doing them at the end of March is better than doing them in the middle of April, right?

(No photos of this because it’s not worth it to take a photo of boring paperwork that I’d have to blur out all the details on anyway.)

Also, because I’m a freelance writer and blogger, my employer (clients) don’t withhold taxes from my payments throughout the year. Which means we have an awesomely large tax bill due to Mr. IRS in a few weeks. Couple that with the bills from our upcoming kitchen remodel and we’ll be saving our pennies majorly for the next several months.

2. We brought the trailer to KC to stay with us for awhile.

CRV and Trailer

I think we told you that awhile back, we bought a trailer with my parents. We now own it 50/50 and can use it to haul major DIY supplies around the city. We figured with the kitchen project, we’ll likely have several opportunities to buy big things (like cabinets?) and haul them home. Life’s about to get ridiculously hectic and messy, but at least we’re going into it with the proper equipment to transport supplies.

Also, we enjoyed the sunshine.

And Wyatt took a little ride on his dad’s Harley.

Oh, and I played with kittens.

Have I mentioned how much I love kittens? And spring?

So, now it’s your turn to tell us about your weekend! Leave a comment below with what you did over the past 3 days!

  • We loved being able to spend time with you guys. John appreciated the “guy time” to work on his projects and I just enjoy watching them interact. So glad we had the beautiful weather to enjoy while swinging and relaxing. Can’t wait to come help with your projects and enjoy some beautiful weather at your place.

  • My hubby started installing our bathroom tile while my 18 month old daughter and I came to visit my parents. It was too hard for her to see Daddy and not get playtime. 🙂 Plus we don’t have a working washing machine right now (long story). I’m still with my family since the bathroom isn’t done. So ready for the bathroom to be done!!!! ugh!

  • Oooo…new tile in the bathroom sounds so nice! Glad you got your hubby to tackle that while you had some playtime with your daughter and family! It will be so great to come home to that being finished!
