…since you looked at me…

(Yes, I sang this Barenaked Ladies song, the entire time I was writing this post, even though the actual lyrics are “one week” and not “one year.” You can still see the connection, right?)

Anyway, after that crazy tangent, let’s get down to business and start celebrating being moved into our house an entire year now!

And to do that, what better way than to flashback at some of my favorite posts/projects from the past year.

July 2012: The Popcorn Ceilings (This post wasn’t written until later, but the work was done it July last year, so it counts.

August: The trim-painting project…which led to this smelly discovery.

September: Pushing through our crazy house-work stage, along with the funny-now-but-not-while-it-was-happening moment we had at Home Depot.

October: Our Housewarming Party. My cup overflowed that day as we celebrated and showed off all our hard work, both in finding the house (and the yard!) and in making it our own!

November: The Striped Walls

December: We did a bunch of little crafty things this month, like the tree skirt, Wyatt’s stable, the yarn pom-poms, and the stockings!

January: We admitted our chair problem, the secret in the basement.

February: Wyatt’s awesome DIY leaning mirror.

March: I added an extra special print in the kitchen in honor of Pi Day. It’s still one of my favorite pieces of art on the house.

April: This was a busy month. Wyatt built the garden boxes out of our old doors, went dumpster diving, made a mason jar toothbrush holder, and we went to Texas for the first Shipman Speed Show Tour.

May: My nightstand, which went through so much, finally reached a beautiful ending.

June: We went to some awesome garage sales, made a sweet travel pin board map, a ruler growth chart, and started having daily harvests in the garden!

Which brings us back to the present, in which we’re one year into turning this builder-basic house into a home we really love.

And just for good measure, my favorite post/project overall, so far, of course.

drum roll…

Just kidding. I can’t pick a favorite, you guys! This house has been a labor of love and I’d feel as if I was picking a favorite child. Why don’t you help us look back and suggest some of your favorites?

Or tell me some of your favorite projects you’ve done at your house!
