I figure it’s time to give you guys a little update on the seeds I planted a month ago. They’ve been growing leaps and bounds since then!

Check out the parsley!

It’s still way too small to use…but it’s certainly growing…so that’s good! The chives don’t look quite as good, for some reason, they look a little puny. Hopefully they’ll perk up, though.

I also randomly planted some apple seeds from inside an apple (one from this night) but they haven’t sprouted yet. I already had the potting soil and the empty pot from replanting the peas. Not sure if they ever will, but I’ll give them a little more time.

And have you seen these peas? Holy cow!

I’ve already replanted them once, and I’m thinking I may have to do that again soon. The plan was to just keep them in a small pot until it was time to plant them outside. I wasn’t quite planning on all this snow!

Speaking of that, I’m making a list of must-have garden plants. Any suggestions or tips for how to have a successful first year of gardening?

I’m loving having them on the window ledge in the kitchen. It’s adorable and functional, and even with all the snow and cold outside, it makes me feel more cheerful and sunny.Β It might even be my favorite part of the kitchen right now!

And I may or may not be a crazy plant lady at heart. I talk to them, whispering sweet nothings and encouraging them to grow. Of course, every time I water them I tell them to “please not die!”

What are you crazy about? Do you ever whisper encouraging words to your plants? What’s your favorite thing about your kitchen? Are you dreaming of spring so you can get outside and plant a garden?
