Well, our first Valentine’s weekend as a family of three (to be!) has come and gone. I didn’t feel wonderful, but we still enjoyed the time together.
I even updated our chalkboard to help set the mood a bit for this lovey-dovey day.
We had some friends come stay with us and took a day trip to Weston, Mo., for some exploring and shopping. We had a great time even though it was frigid cold out and I had to sit and rest while shopping to ease my queasy stomach.
We enjoyed some delicious food:
Oh, and I had my first experience playing Settlers of Catan. It wasn’t my favorite game since it involves strategy (not my strong suit), but it was still a really fun night.
Of course, Valentines’ Day started off simple with just the two (three!) of us with pancakes and sausage from Wyatt.
We’ve had pancakes every year since we’ve been married. Our first married Valentine’s Day we had chocolate chip pancakes and homemade breakfast burritos.
In 2013, we also had chocolate chip pancakes. Wyatt even made them heart-shaped. He’s the resident pancake master in our house.
Last year my hair was shorter and cuter, but we didn’t have Beanie, so this year still wins.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, our presents to each other. Can you guess whose is whose?
What did you do for Valentine’s Day? I’d like to hear how you celebrated!
The chalkboard looks nice, and all those pancakes look delicious!!
Thanks! Wyatt is a pancake master!
