This weekend was a great one…really, but it made me realize something about myself. I’m crazy.
Crazy for tackling a kitchen remodel on our own (it’s going well, but it’s still madness, I think.), crazy for ordering our cabinets and then having to walk around them in giant boxes in our living room for several weeks, crazy for striving to cook at home most nights despite not having a kitchen, crazy for expanding our garden this year…and crazy, crazy, crazy for having a garage sale, and overnight house guests in the middle of all of this.
But, then again, who isn’t a little crazy, right? I personally think the crazy adds to the fun sometimes.
And if that’s true, this weekend was certainly fun and crazy.
My mom came up on Thursday afternoon to help us get set up and ready for the garage sale. It was a lot of effort to get the garage empty enough to set up tables and boxes and boxes of stuff to sell.
But finally, we got it all together. And then, this happened on Friday and Saturday:
Meanwhile, Hubs and my brother-in-law were in the kitchen, fixing our electrical problem and ripping out the sink…
…the countertops…
…and the base cabinets…
Then, Wyatt got to work on removing the remaining drywall. And just like that, we had a completely gutted kitchen.
Yikes.
We’ll be back (sometime) with an update on more details for all those steps, but in the meantime, you get the idea…
Then, as if we hadn’t had enough craziness, we tackled the garden…
But I’ll get into more of that later. This is already a belated post today anyway because we had some other unexpected issues today…like car trouble…fun stuff.
So, now it’s your turn to tell us what you did over the weekend. And how crazy you think we are for tackling all this at once. On the one hand, I’m having a little bit of fun with all this…but on the other hand, doing dishes in the bathroom is already getting old and its only been four days…
It’s going to be hard no matter when you do it! But better now than after you have kids! We are slowly (and I mean, SLOWLY) still getting little things accomplished around our kitchen remodel.
Yes, that’s for sure. We’re thankful we don’t have littles to worry about at the moment!
BUSY BUSY! I love it!
Ha! Me too…I think…
