On Sunday, we had a great time making progress on several things. And yet, I still struggled with feeling like we hadn’t gotten anything done because no projects were really completed.
So, in the spirit of staying positive and not being down in the dumps about getting things done, I’m making a list of everything we did this weekend.
- Went to Home Depot to buy paint for pew and table, stain for table top, etc.
- Worked on the Honda for several hours. (There’s always something to do on that one!)
- Applied wood putty to scratches and dents on four future dining room chairs.
- Caulked and cleaned the pew for paint.
- Cleaned and prepped paint sprayer. Learned how to use it.
- Spray painted several coats on two Christmas projects.
- Sprayed two coats of white paint on the pew.
- Cut boards to size to make the apron for the table top.
- Assembled apron boards together.
- Sprayed two coats of white paint on the boards for the two aprons on the table.
- Assembled table base and screwed it together.
- Sanded 2 chairs to prepare them for primer.
- Cleaned up the garage.
- Cleaned and put away sprayer. (This is worth a bullet point–it took awhile!)
And this last one didn’t really count as progress, but it’s still worth mentioning I think:
- Made turkey pot pies with leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Yum.
When you add in several hours of shopping (it was the biggest shopping weekend of the year, after all, church, dinner out with Wyatt’s family, sleeping in and some relaxing time on the couch with Hubs, and this was another super busy weekend.
And honestly, when I see all that progress written out like this, it’s a little hard to be down in the dumps about all our unfinished projects. I do have to be realistic though, and get my unmotivated bottom off the couch and go stain our table top!
Tell me what you accomplished this weekend! Was it more than we accomplished–I’d love to compare notes!
You got ALOT done. I organized my “pinterest place” aka my office that hubby built for me. I needed to put away my project, take inventory and get a workspace back. We also hung a new chandelier in the dining room. Your list was long. You should be happy to cross off everything. One step closer!
Oooo! A new chandelier is exciting! How fun. And yes, organizing is good. I’m starting to feel like I live in a crazy DIY jungle over here between the garage and the kitchen messes! Good job with your progress and thanks for the encouragement!
