I shared our Valentine’s Day chalkboard already, but I finally got around to finishing up the rest of the mantle and I wanted to show you.

I added a few items next to the chalkboard to fill out the mantle, trying to stick to the natural theme.

On the right side, I have a vase of flowers Hubs brought home from work for me yesterday, and my dried bouquet from our wedding. Of course, the love dove gets to sit up there, too. It is Valentine’s Day, after all.

On the left, I just grabbed two empty wine bottles I wrapped in yarn, a small arrangement of the flowers from Hubs, and our carved initials, also from our wedding.

The other dried bouquet is from my sister’s wedding.

I also made a little pink garland to hang on the tree ย branches I keep in a vase by the fireplace.

It looks pretty cute, , and it adds a little more rustic charm to the room, even though I know Hubs doesn’t like pink. I can switch it out for the yellow and blue garland in a week or two.

There’s a couple of garlands hanging over the TV, In fact, the red heart beaded one has been there since Christmas. I figured it could be for either Christmas or Valentine’s Day.

Then, I quickly made the little paper hearts and strung them on a garland, following this method I posted several years ago.

I also made a little garland for the railing by the stairs. It’s pretty simple but I think it adds a little bit of fun over there.

Valentine's XOXO Garland

Last year I made the black and pink glitter pillow from an old sorority T-shirt. The sorority I was in at college was founded on Valentine’s Day and we were known as the sweethearts, so it’s fun to have a little piece of that there.

My little Valentine’s Day Tigger also gets to hang out on the couch for a little while.

I also got out the adorably silly flog prince vase Wyatt once sent me Valentine’s Flowers in when we were in high school. It’s cheesy, but I’ve never been able to get rid of it.

Overall, I think the living room looks pretty festive, even if Valentine’s Day isn’t a huge deal for us. We’ve never really celebrated too much, but it’s still fun to be a little extra festive.

Also, not pictured are the blankets we’ve been snuggling under on the couch every night since it’s so cold and snowy here. Good grief, it’s winter out there! But, the weather’s a good excuse to cuddle up and have a little together time.

Oh, here’s a fun look back to see our Valentine’s Day decor last year:

I think this year looks a lot more grown up. It’s so fun to see how our style is evolving as we get new pieces, like our giant salvaged chalkboard.

I’m not sure yet how we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day, but I’m sure it will involve being cold—will winter ever end? What are your V-Day plans?
