This post is sponsored by Target on behalf of their #TargetWedding program, but the words and opinions are all our own.
And winner is posted below! Did you win?
Guys, it’s that time again. Nope, not Tool Time, wedding time. Several of our friends and family members got engaged over the holiday season and we’ve started to receive the Save the Date cards and invitations already! That means all those couples are now in that fun stage of their relationship when they get to register for gifts. It’s the perfect time to think about the type of life you’d like to have after you’re married, and then you get to select all the items you’ll need to start making those memories together!
Also, just for fun, let’s post a wedding photo for a little trip down memory lane. I can’t believe it’s already been 2.5 years!
So, our friends at Target asked us to check out their wedding registry catalog and see what types of items we’d want to register for. Since we’re already married and no one’s willing to buy us all these wonderful presents right now (unless you’re just itching for a reason to buy us a present!), I’ll have to settle for online window shopping. Still, it’s interesting to look back and see the kinds of things we would have registered for. It was so fun to start planning our life together by selecting items we would use after we were married!
And in case choosing items can be overwhelming, Target’s online catalog offers a bunch of awesome suggestions for you to start really thinking about the things you’ll need for your home!
When we got married, and then especially after we bought our house, we imagined we’d spend a lot of time outside, hanging out on the deck and playing outside. I’d love to say we do a great job of this, but really, we aren’t out there as much as we’d like to be, as evidenced by our resolution to start taking better advantage of our yard. Patio furniture is expensive so I don’t think we would have really registered for these, but I know I’d enjoy spending time out on our deck more if we had these chairs to sit in all the time:
There are also matching dining chairs. And they are wonderful. Who wouldn’t want to have this patio set? I think it would even encourage me to eat outside on hot July days!
The matching table is also nice, but I’m still in hopes of Hubs making an outside table for us, so maybe we wouldn’t need this one. However, if someone wanted to give it to us as a wedding present, I certainly wouldn’t have turned it down!
When we were planning our registry, I also imagined us having dinner parties and fun get-togethers with friends. I’d like to say we entertained all the time, but really, I know we should really do this more often. I love the opportunity to share our home with those we love and it’s so special to put together a memorable meal and an evening. (Otherwise known as excuses to buy and use this lovely tiered cake stand.)
There’s a matching cake stand with a cover that speaks to me, too. Hello, gorgeous! If I had the extra cash, you’d be featured proudly on our future open shelving!
You all already know my love for Target dishes and glasses and well, everything. Wyatt sometimes has to hold my hand and nearly drag me out of the store when we don’t have time to stop and shop for all the lovely things I want but don’t need. I’m on a mission to get those white ceramic and chalkboard containers, below (used as a vase for rosemary I think?)!
One of the things we did really want for our wedding for a yellow Kitchen Aid mixer. I love to bake and I imagined myself using it all the time to make delicious desserts. Thankfully, my grandma has bought one of these mixers for each of her married grandchildren so far. And yes, I’m still very enamored with our yellow one, but the silver one from Target is really snazzy, too. I also really like that fun green one!
Now, if any of you all are in that awesome stage of life when you get to register for gifts and people all want to buy you presents, I’d suggest going to Target to sign up right now. Seriously, it will be fun.
Now for the fun part! Target has generously offered a gift card to one of you!

Then, leave a comment with your favorite item and we’ll choose a winner randomly to receive a $25 gift card from our friends at Target! UPDATE: We’ve chosen a winner using Random.org. It’s comment number 19, Laura! Congrats! And don’t worry to the rest of you, they’ll be more giveaways in the future!
Again, this is a sponsored post for Target, but the opinions are all our own. Questions? Feel free to send us an email or leave a comment!
is definitely go for a stand mixer!! not sure on color though….probably red!
Those are so snazzy! (My sister has a red one and it’s great!)
I would absolutely love a Kitchenaid mixer (but no room for that in this tiny apt.). Instead I would opt for a dyson vacuum!
I’ve heard those are nice. Fingers crossed you’ll have one someday!
As nice as a Kitchenaid mixer would be, I think it is time to replace the cutlery. I really like the heavy weighted ones. So many to choose from!
Good idea!
I love the Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II 10 piece Set, definitely a must have in every kitchen!

I really like the Dyson DC41 Animal Complete Vacuum – such a splurge but I’ve wanted a Dyson for a while and this is the one I’d pick having shedding pets and all. Plus, it’s pretty. 🙂
Yes! That would be great!
I would definitely want some new silverware!
Nice idea!
I’d have to agree with Dani…I really like the Dyson DC41 Animal Complete Vacuum. I’d love a really nice vacuum and now that we have a dog I want its super sucker abilities even more!

Love those!
I know it sounds simple enough, but a good set of Pyrex glass baking dishes with matching lids would be awesome. In hindsight, I think that would have been the most practical, but I opted for the plain metal ones for our wedding registry. Now I just wish I could put a lid on it and put it in the fridge to save the food.
I agree! I really want to switch from plastic leftover containers to glass ones…but haven’t made the switch since it’s going to be kind of expensive.
I also like the Dyson DC41. I wish there was a registry for married folks. We will hit 30 years in July and it would be nice to get some new stuff.
Yes! I think you deserve a few gifts!
Love this! We registered for Target and it was my favorite store to register at! We really wanted a fire pit, but we didn’t get it. Perhaps a $25 gift card may encourage us to purchase it!
That’s a great idea! Good luck!
I love these bath shets: http://www.target.com/p/threshold-performance-solid-bath-sheet/-/A-14140690?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=%7C14140690&CPNG=Bath&kpid=14140690&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=14140690&gclid=CLmtiuG2tbwCFatcMgodASkAqA
Those are nice!
Champagne flutes. Because when it’s in a plastic cup from a pizza place….it’s just not the same.
Ha! So true!
I would love a Hoover Power Scrub Carpet Washer! It has good reviews! But gift cards for weddings are always my favorite too!
I agree!
