Well guys, I’m finally decorated. Almost.

These snowflakes are from our apartment last year. I still like them, though, so they went up again this year. It was probably the cheapest project I’ve ever done–and the messiest–those little slivers of paper get everywhere!

I mean, I’ll probably still fiddle with the mantel and (hopefully) add a few Christmas books to the basket next to the fireplace. Plus, I may have to keep fixing the picture in the hall because the pages keep coming un-stuck from the glass.

Still, though, almost everything is ready.

(I’m working on finishing up my Christmas DIY posts for you guys to see soon. After all, if I don’t get them up soon, it will too late for you guys to try any of the stuff!)

Just in time, huh? Considering Christmas is now only a few days (12!) away. Wowza. This month flies by, doesn’t it? I wish there was more time to do all the things I love…like enjoy the Christmas lights and drink hot cocoa while admiring our tree and dreaming about the presents that will soon (hopefully) be underneath its branches.

Yes, I just admitted to you that I have nothing wrapped yet. I do, however, have a lot of shopping done. It’s just that everything is in a box in the basement.

I had plans to wrap some presents this week, but then I caught the plague. (ok, so maybe I get a little whiny and exaggerate a bit when I’m sick, but I DO feel awful.)

We were also supposed to go on our annual Christmas light trip this weekend, but it’s being postponed in favor of me sitting on the couch eating chicken-noodle soup and ice cream.

(Not together of course…although in a related note, I’m a little embarrassed to admit I’ve eaten no less than 5 bowls of ice cream in the last two days…) (WHAT? It feels good on my throat!)

On a happier note, this is my view from aforementioned couch (actually, it’s a love seat if we’re being technical).

It’s much more inspirational and cheerful than the view would be any other time of year.

Anyway, stay tuned for more Christmas-y posts (like this one!) in the next few days. Tis the season, right?
