On Thursday, I showed you the cute little heart pillow I made. Then, on Friday I showed you this pear and hinted that I’d get a Valentine’s-themed-post up this weekend. Well, it’s Monday and you can see that didn’t happen. It turns out that being home with Hubs for the first weekend in a month means that I don’t take time out from all the projects, progress, and just general enjoyment for blogging.

But now that we’re back to the work week, I do want to share our living room in it’s all decked out and currently clean state with you before it gets too late. After all, Valentine’s Day is only three days away!

To get us started, he’s Mr. Love Dove himself, to help get us in the mood for this very lovey-kind of holiday.

Now, onto the rest:

On the mantle, the pear joined some other white items (including Mr. Love Dove) on the mantle to help keep the cool winter feeling among the more rustic, wooden pieces up there. I added a free Valentine’s printable from here in a painted-white wooden frame, and a Love sign we received for Christmas.

And of course, I updated our chalkboard with something a little more in tune with the spirit of the day.

Down below, I set out my favorite plate with a mug on the tray Hubs got me for Christmas. I think I made cupcakes last year to serve on that plate…sounds like a great thing to make a tradition of if you ask me.

Then, I just stacked a few red and white books under the candles and giant key I got on sale a couple of years ago from Hobby Lobby.

I also got out the red pillow I found at Christmastime to the black heart one I made last week.

And while all of these little changes are subtle enough for Hubs not to mind too much, they are also festive enough to make me feel a little cheery and smiley when I look around the living room.

Tell me what you do your Valentine’s Day in your house. Do you not decorate at all or go all out? How soon after February 14th do you take down all the hearts?
