And because I really, really, really like the new range hood, I wanted to share some finished pictures of everything all installed.
I talked about phase 1 of installation here.
Wyatt came back and discussed his work in the attic and on the roof .
And now it looks like this:
To back up, we choose the Maytag 30-inch convertible stainless steel range hood, ordered with a coupon, online from Home Depot. (We also used Ebates to get some cash back. π
We’re really happy with it so far, both from the functionality standpoint and for how it looks.
From the side, it sticks out a bit right now, but once the shelving is added, I think it will blend in nicely.
Also,Β yes, I know the photos are dark. It was a cloudy, rainy day with not great natural light. Sorry. Luckily, I won’t be cooking in the dark with the range hood’s new lights. It’s not as nice as our new LED bulbs, but I’ll take it!
Unfortunately, the hood does case a shadow on the wall because the light bulb is right in front of it on the ceiling, but there wasn’t much we could do about that placement. And I don’t really mind it. It’s not as noticeable in person as it is in the photo below.
And it’s still looking so darn fancy in this kitchen now that I would gladly dance and glory in all the shadows you can throw at me. I mean, seriously…I get to cook in this room? Color me impressed!
We still have a lot left on our to-do list for this kitchen remodel, (Everyone keeps asking, “Are you done yet?” and I feel like the dad of the trip saying repeatedly, “Not yet…not yet…not yet…”)
For example, yes, we still need to get a vent cover for the air duct that comes in right in front of the hood.
But I’m so excited to be where we are today! I think this range hood is one of the fanciest things I’ve ever owned. It’s so fun to get to push these fancy little buttons and start seeing steam get sucked up and out.
It makes me feel all snazzy and special even though I know it wasn’t that expensive. And you know I enjoy a good bargain! I just get all silly and smile-ly when I look at it. It’s just so shiny!
Do you have any favorite items in your house that make you giddy like that?
It looks awesome!!! Things are really coming together in there – can’t wait to see the finished product!!
Thanks! It’s so exciting!
