Today, I’m blogging for Salvation Army Family Stores, sharing some fun thrifted belts I’ve found recently to add some variety to my wardrobe for not a lot of cash. One of my favorite finds was this neon green skinny belt I wore to a wedding recently.
Since it was longer than I needed, I decided to wear it by tying it in a fun bow instead of simply wrapping it around me like a normal belt. Here’s how I did it:
First, pull the long end through the buckle all the way to desired tightness. You’ll have to push the fastener part of the buckle off to the side if you don’t have enough holes in your belt. Then, tuck the long end up under the wrapped part (the part that circles your body.)
Then, pull that loop tighter and cross the long end over to the other side of the buckle, allowing the long end to twist so the back is facing out so you can tuck the long end back up from under on this second side.
Then, pull the long end back down into the section that crossed over the middle to make and “x.” If you can, it’s helpful to push this back through the buckle if it will fit. It will help hold your bow in place since it will secure the two loops.
And finally, adjust your loops and secure your loose end if needed. Ta-da!

And tell me, have you ever tied a bow in your belt? It’s a fun look, I think! I hope I explained it well, but if not, feel free to ask questions and I’ll try and help!
