It’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m enjoying the extra time with Hubs at home today. We’ve actually been home all weekend, and working on several projects to share with you all in the coming days.
One quick little update that took place on Sunday was adding our flag to the front facade of our house.
One of Wyatt’s aunts gave us the flag as a housewarming gift (which I thought was a great idea–every home should have one and who thinks to buy it yourself until you want it? –Thanks for the great gift, Martha!) and it’s been sitting in our garage since October.
Memorial Day was the perfect time to bust it out, and Hubs eye-balled where we wanted the flag to go and quickly drilled in a few screws to hold the mounting kit secure on the side of our garage.
A few slight adjustments to hold the flag in place, and we were done. Fastest project ever.
I think it adds the perfect amount of Patriotic festiveness to the front of the house. And besides, it’s a good way to honor those who have sacrificed for and served our country on this special weekend.
Happy Memorial Day, everyone! We want to offer our thanks to those that have or are currently serving our country, as well as remember those that have passed on before us. We are certainly remembering our loved ones today, and hope you will take some time to do this as well.
Did you hang a flag this weekend? Are you going to take the suggestion to give a flag as a housewarming gift to any future homeowners you know? How are you celebrating this long weekend? Let’s hear about it!
Cute! Our flag came with the house (woo!) and it makes me smile every time I see the front of our house for some reason. 🙂
Nice! (Our house came with a ladder…weird.)
Hey, you’ll take it, right?!
For sure! We also got 2 electric scooters in the shed. We’ve yet to try them out! Need to get on that, I guess!
Looks great. We try to hang ours every holiday. Glad to see you are doing the same.
Thanks! We like it, too! And we appreciate you always having yours out!
