A Deal on Deck Chairs

It’s springtime, which means the temperatures are just about perfect for grilling and spending time outside, whether we’re on the deck, or down in the yard. So, that means it’s time to pull out the patio furniture so we have some place to sit and eat. Or sit and read. Or sit and work. Basically, a place to sit outside. In you recall, in the past, we’ve used wicker furniture that we updated with some bright-colored

Our 2016 Suburban Garden

This weekend, we finally got the garden all planted. It’s a big job every year to get it ready, but it always feels good to cross it off the list in the spring. When we first started working, they were pretty sad. So, we added a lot of composted dirt to the beds this year, courtesy of the cattle at my dad’s farm. Then, we mixed in some potting mix near the top to help

A Chair Change

~ UPDATE: The chair we bought is no longer sold, but here are three similar ones! The last one is so pretty and affordable and COMES WITH THE OTTOMAN!  I have a little nursery update for you all. Or, rather a big one. Can you tell what it is? Any guesses? No? What, you don’t have our entire house memorized by now? Ok, I’ll tell you. We bought a new chair. I know, I know,

A Shiny Spot for Sweets

It’s raining again and I just got Will down for a late nap. (Finally!) So I wanted to take a few minutes to share a little project I worked on awhile back. Did you see it? No, it’s not fixing the crooked photos in that gallery. But thanks for pointing that out because it’s all I can see now. It’s this little gold accented candy dish. I grabbed this little bird at the thrift store

Where we’ve been…

I’m sorry we’ve been so quiet this week. (Not a single post–the shame!) So, I wanted to check in and just let you know that yes, we’re still here, and yes, we have several projects in progress. And several other projects that are completed and just waiting to be written about and posted…but, it’s been a busy week. I have been really busy with my freelance writing clients and Wyatt’s been working on a special

Feebie FriYAY – Loved & Lovely

Today’s #FreebieFriYAY is a reminder I need to hear daily. Or hourly.  Because I often don’t feel loved. Or lovely. Motherhood isn’t exactly the most glamorous job out there. I mean, unless you think yoga pants covered in baby drool and smeared vegetable puree, stained nursing tanks, old stretched out t-shirts, and three-day old hair buns are stylish. And sometimes, showering seems like an accomplishment. Add in a messy house and a long to-do list

Progress Check – 2016 Goal

It’s time to talk about our progress, so far, on our goals for the year. I honestly haven’t even thought about these much so I’m guessing this isn’t going to be all that encouraging, but here goes nothing… 1. Add a garbage disposal back under the kitchen sink. Hooray! We can cross the first item off the list! Read about this project, here. 2. Revamp the laundry room. We’ve done some brainstorming, but that’s it. Well, we

Freebie FriYAY! Breathing in Possibility Print

Happy #FreebieFriYAY! I needed something to replace the Easter prints on my clipboard wall, so I made a spring print to celebrate how fresh and full of potential the morning sunshine feels in the spring. I also grabbed this awesome “Oh Lord Abide With Me” free print from Danielle Burkleo. Seriously, her printables are amazing and you need to go check them out. I’m sure I’ll be printing and featuring several more because she’s the kind

When The Dryer Makes a Funny Noise…

On Saturday night, I was home by myself with Will and trying to get one last load of laundry done while I nursed him before bedtime. The dryer started to make a really loud rattling sound and I knew something wasn’t right so I quickly laid Will in his crib and went in there to check it out. I suspected the problem was something caught somewhere, but I didn’t see anything in the drum or the
