Last fall, I posted about the new window my parents were putting into the kitchen. My mom had been wanting a garden-type window for years and they finally started the process!
For some more background on the story, feel free to go back and read this post, but after a request a couple weeks ago, I wanted to come back and show the now finished results:
Sorry about the weird shadow–the sun was setting as I snapped these photos. I think you still get the idea, though, right?
Since they chose this type of window instead of a garden window, there’s only a little offset on the outside of the house.
Even though the window doesn’t stick out that far on the outside, there is still a big sill on the inside. (It’s full of my mom’s kitchen-themed snowman collection right now, but usually, it’s much roomier…)
Also, you’ll notice there’s still bare wood on the inside…that’s because when they get into their full kitchen remodel, the backsplash material will continue into the side of the window.
So, even though this was a good little update my mom waited years and years for, you can’t tell it ever wasn’t a part of the house.
Actually, from a little farther away, you can’t tell at all!
Anyway, this post is basically just a simple little update, but don’t worry, we’re working on finishing up and writing a post about a pretty exciting little update in our living room right now! Also, I know this post is super-duper short, so
I’ll admit to feeling under the weather today (which is hard to do considering it’s sooo cold here), but I hope to be back to my wordier self soon! Tell me, for my sake, what makes you feel better when you’re feeling sick?
Glad your mom got her window. It does look like it’s always been there. When I’m not feeling well, cranberry tea makes me feel better.
Yes! I’m glad she got her window, too! And thanks for the cranberry tip!
