This weekend, Wyatt and I took a much-needed little getaway and spent some time just goofing off and having fun.

And, we crossed one important item off our Summer Bucket List, floating around in a lazy river.

Lazy River

(You can barely see the water behind us. I didn’t actually take my phone with us while we were floating.)

We also ate at restaurants and totally forgot ignored our lack of a kitchen at home.

We also enjoyed some fun drinks, including a frozen rum and coke from Wyatt, and a ginger beer for me. I’ve never been able to order one of those at a restaurant before!

And some fruity champagne.

We shopped for antiques…

Antique Philadelphia Cream Cheese Box

We found this cute little cream cheese box:

That we plan to use somewhere in the kitchen. It goes with our Kraft cheese box we found and turned into a fun little salt and pepper/trivia card holder.

And, really, we just enjoyed time away from home together…not working on the kitchen. This was especially nice because Wyatt had to make a quick trip to NYC last week for work. And I miss him when he’s gone.

Then, our trip ended with a visit with a friend (so good to see you, Jill!) and a great sunset on the drive home.

All in all, it was a super relaxing, really fun couple of days. Even though it was a quick trip, it was still really good to escape from all the crazy that is our lives right now.

Plus, we know that we likely won’t be able to go anywhere for my birthday or our anniversary this year (can’t believe how close both of those are!) because Wyatt is really busy at work right now, so taking vacation is out of the question.

So, what did you do this past weekend? Or maybe you have fun plans for the upcoming long holiday weekend? Let’s hear how you’re celebrating July!
