Despite the drastic weather changes, we had a pretty busy weekend, and most of it was spent outdoors.

Saturday morning, we woke up to soft rain, and I got up early and did a few things on the computer, one of which was to check the weather, letting Hubs sleep in a little longer. By 9:00, the rain had pretty much stopped, so I woke Hubs up for a morning of bargain-hunting at garage sales.

We didn’t find all that much worth buying, but I did get a few books, two Christmas ones to add to my collection of holiday storybooks, a Charlie Brown book, to add to that collection, and a cute little children’s book, to add to that collection… for when the time comes. (Sorry the picture is blurry…it was taken on my phone and didn’t download well on my computer.)

Then, Saturday afternoon was spent around the house, finishing a few projects and relaxing before heading out with coats and warm clothing in the dreary weather for the Sporting KC game that night.

It was a super exciting game (One of my favorite players scored twice–his first ever MLS goals!–but they still lost 3-2, so it was a bit of a bummer at the end of the night.)

Then, Sunday morning we were greeted with sunshine and warm weather as we headed to Springfield with my grandpa and my sister and brother-in-law to watch the Cardinals minor league team play a double header.

We didn’t stay for the entire second game, but we did stay long enough for Wyatt and I to get chosen to play kickball out on the field in the 4th inning. We were supposed to kick the balls over the back fence, which I didn’t succeed in doing, and we were competing against each other.

Hubs did manage to get 3 points though, so he won the prize. He even kicked the ball over the roof of the nearby building!

Lucky for me, we share stuff like that now, so we both went home with a prize, no matter what. Unlucky for us is the fact that the prize was a too-big shirt and a hat neither of us will likely wear.

Still, it was fun, as neither of us have ever done anything like that before.

(This is my favorite picture, in which it looks like Hubs is about to hit the Team Louie cheerleader girl in the face…although it was actually no where near her, I promise. No fan girls were harmed in this kickball contest.)

We finally settled into the couch for a few minutes last night for a snack and some TV before bed, blissfully ignoring the leaking anti-freeze coming out of the Honda, the busy work week ahead, and the piles of mess in our kitchen.

This morning I’m enjoying this view while visions of warm summer weekends dance in my head.

Tell us about your weekend? Was it relaxing and fun? Did you spend it at sporting events like we did? How about working around the house or hitting up garage sales? Maybe next weekend it will be warm enough (and dry enough) to work in the garden, although I doubt it!
