I’ve already told you guys how sad I was when all my seedlings started to die. I’m even more sad to say I only have these left:

I’ve dealt with it though, and I’m moving on, ready to buy plants to fill up our garden, in hopes that they grow better than these seeds did.

Still, even though pretty much all of my seedlings have died, there is still some joy in my gardener’s heart when I look outside at the beautiful sunshine today. Why? Because my tulips are doing awesome!

I love how cheerful and lovely these guys are, peeking out from around our back deck.

I mean, tulips really are beautiful. I sometimes forget that until they show up in the spring.

I also took the time today to let the tulips from our Easter mantle get some drying time since they had been sitting out in the rain for quite some time now.

They were so lovely inside this year when it was so cold and snowy for so long…

I’ll bring them in after a couple of hours and store them in the garage or basement (somewhere cool and dry) until next fall, when they can get added to the ones already out there.

I think they’ll blend in nicely, don’t you think?

So far, my tulips are the most successful thing we’ve planted, although my kitchen window sill herb garden is also doing pretty amazing right now. Stay tuned for an update there soon!

What spring flowers make you swoon? Any success with any outside-plantings yet? any future plans for a garden?
