You may remember a couple of years ago, we received some hand-me-down wicker furniture from my grandma. It was pretty worn, but still had some life left in it. So, I spray-painted it bright colors. You can read that post, here, for more info.

Wicker Before and After

Last year, we left these entire patio set outside on our deck in all kinds of weather–rain, hail, high heat–and it got pretty worn. Then, we stashed it in the basement for the winter and over the weekend, I realized it needed some serious sprucing up in order to be ready for another spring and summer out of on deck.

On Sunday, I took advantage of the nice weather and set up a little painting station.

I had picked up a couple cans of spray paint when they were on sale at Westlake’s a couple weeks ago.

It was plenty windy (too windy to be painting probably) but I got the job done.

Things look way better.

That doesn’t include how the bump looks in my painting clothes. That isn’t looking better, it’s looking tighter and more squished, but I’m super determined to not BUY new painting clothes to ruin. Sheesh.

We actually ended up selling the little love seat portion at our garage sale. It was a little slanted from one of the legs being twisted on the back side…and we never sat in that one anyway so I figured I’d save us a little room on the deck. But I did have my dad spray it with another coat of paint to freshen it up when they came to help us a couple weekends ago.

We also need to seriously clean up the garden area before we get ready to plant it in the coming weeks. And we need to finish cleaning out the shed. And clean up the deck. And weed the front flower bed and replace the plants that didn’t make it through the winter.

Basically, we still have a lot of sprucing up to do before summer officially begins.

What are you sprucing up lately? Anything outdoors to get ready for summer? Anyone want to come help us do the weeding? I’m not looking forward to that project at all.
