Hubs can testify that yesterday I was in a bit of a funk…a snow funk.

(Of course, it wasn’t helped by the fact that he played a video game for 5 hours yesterday afternoon while I sulked around and had a failed attempt at a project–that I’ll tell you about later…)

Anyway, after all the snow we had the first, second, and third times around had melted, and on Palm Sunday, no less, we had another snowstorm.

I’m starting to think we moved north instead of south when we bought this house…north as in Canada.

I don’t think we’ll be having any patio barbecues, or rebuilding our deck, any time soon, huh?

Also, these birds must be cold. They fly into this window every hour or so trying to get inside… very odd…

Anyway, this morning, even though I woke up to snow still on the ground, I decided it would be a better day.

I mean, how can anyone be unhappy with this to look at during the day?

tulips2

I mean, how lovely are tulips? Have you ever stopped to really, really appreciate them? Just lovely…

tulips 3

Easter bunny, if you’re listening, I want tulip bulbs in my basket this year, please and thank you. Yes, a basket of bulbs, blooms, and bunnies…chocolate bunnies that is. Although ceramic bunnies are also nice…and easier on my waistline, so maybe that’s the way to go.

Anyway, I’m also super excited to see this guy, all tall and brave, reaching toward the sun, light over our dining room table.

Quick gardening question…at what point does the zucchini get more than two leaves and stop growing straight up?

His counterparts are also doing well.

sproutsReally, I can’t believe they’re doing so well. I only planted them a week and a half ago, in this post. Every single little pouch in this tray is sprouted and doing well! (Well, except the ones I added around the edge on Saturday when I ran out of new plastic trays to sit the compostable starter trays in)

I also planted this full tray on Saturday, full of flowers, so we won’t have just vegetables around here this year, if they grow, that is…

And, another point in the way of positivity on this snowy, middle-of-March morning is the fact that the watermelons are poking their heads up now, too!

Also, the peas got thinned and wrapped around their makeshift stakes over the weekend…

staked peas

… Being as we won’t be planting them in the still-untilled-and-covered-in-snow garden spot for awhile now.

Oh, and for those of you that are keeping track, the chives are still growing strong, too, although they do look a bit scraggly.

Remember when I planted those, (in this post)? Plus, the parsley is pretty much big enough to eat now, so that’s super exciting.

growing parsleyWoo hoo! See, I’m all cheered up just thinking about all this wonderful growth action. Plants really are good for the soul, I’ll tell ya!

Anyway, that’s all for now. Stay tuned for an update on my project that flopped yesterday. How are things in your neck of the woods? Snowy? Springy? Full of bad attitudes or happy hearts?

Also, did you catch our posts over the weekend, here, and here, where I show you how we’re all decorated for spring and Easter!
