Well, it’s snowing again here at the Shipman homestead, and we already have probably 10 inches or so, if not more.

Needless to say, both Hubs and I worked from home today, and we’re so thankful he has a job he can do that when needed, and that I have a job I can do that everyday!

Here’s a few shots of what we’re seeing outside our windows:

And a couple videos, because I had a strange compulsion to document our first blizzard in the house.

Here’s the back yard:

And the front yard.*

*if you listen very closely at the very beginning of this video, you’ll hear Hubs say, “It’s cold! Shut the door!” in a pretty comical voice.

Tell me what the weather’s like in your neck of the woods. Are you snowed in? Did you stock up on home improvement supplies so you could get some projects done while you’re stuck at home? I wish we’d bought curtain rods so we could hang the new curtains for the living room!

5 Thoughts on “Snow Day”

  • We have about 8 inches. Finally both home and snuggled in. The girls are loving the snow. They run and play everytime they go out.

  • Took pictures while snowing and then took Llyr out for a couple hours after lunch. He alternated between underneath the cars in the front yard and under the pew right up against the house in the back. He moved FAST between everywhere. I think he was interested at first and he did play with some snowballs, but the wind go to him. I built him a little kitty fort in Matt’s snow pile while he shovelled and Llyr sat in his little igloo for a few minutes. Then Matt got the pile so high I decided to try a tunnel. Got deep enough in that I could lay half in it, but then got cold and tired. May play more tomorrow but have more homework on the agenda for then, so we’ll see. Rest of the day we watched a movie, did work, cooked a roast, and watched Dr. Who. It was a fun day. I got done the very few things I’d planned for my day – should have been more productive but it was nice to rest as well.

    • Oh, I forgot the most important part of the story – Llyr WILLINGLY came back inside when I opened the door after an hour or so and didn’t even look back. He was worn out! But I think he had fun.

      • Ha! Maybe you should always tire him out while he’s there and he’ll always want to come back in and snuggle. Glad you guys had a good day! We didn’t play in the snow at all here, but I guess there’s always going to be time tomorrow since I don’t think it will melt that fast!
