How happy are people who just had their new kitchen cabinets delivered? Happier than a camel on Wednesday.

Yup, it’s Wednesday, cabinet delivery day! (AKA: Hump Day Jump-over-the-big-boxes Day!)

Sorry, I had to share that as it’s been running through my head all week as I waited for this day to come. The cabinets have arrived.

In fact, they arrived a little after 8:00 am this morning, bright and early.

We had a great delivery crew that got the boxes all unloaded and piled up in the the living room really quickly, and then it was back to work for both Wyatt and I. We are both pretty busy with our real jobs so the kitchen has had to be put on the back burner except on weekends…but now that we have boxes and boxes of cabinets to walk around all the time, I’m sure we’ll be picking up the pace a little bit.

The chalkboard in our living room has never seemed more true.

And of course, we couldn’t help but open and check out a few of the cabinets, even though we won’t be installing them for awhile. Pretty exciting.

We still have several projects to finish up in the kitchen before we get to the installation, though, so I know we’ll be enjoying our extra cozy living room for awhile.

We moved the bookshelves to  our bedroom temporarily and moved the couch and love seat closer to the fireplace to give us more room. It’s still feeling cramped in there, but that’s okay.

And, I’m looking forward to when these boxes are unloaded—because I told Wyatt we could build the best box fort EVER.

He didn’t seem super interested in that idea. Something tells me when the kitchen is finished, he may want to take a break from building for awhile…

It’s a little hard to believe we were so concerned about getting the cabinets ordered quickly and now we’re not even ready to install them after they are here, but in our defense, they told us it would be 4-6 weeks, or more, before they were ready to be delivered.

Then, we got a call saying they were ready at 3 weeks. Yikes.

Still, I’d rather it be this way than still waiting for them to be delivered in December…so I’m counting my blessings.

Anyway, just sharing some remodeling excitement with you all today. Now for the hard part. The work.
