Sunday, Hubs and I went to a few stores to pick up some things for the house. On the list were items such as “curtain rods for bedroom” and “garden plants.”

Not on the list: this rug.

Still, when I saw it (at Target), I knew it had to come home with us. Or rather one of them did. There were actually four colors and Hubs and I debated awhile as to which was going to be our winner. These aren’t sold online, but here’s the link to the red one, which was a top choice. Blue won out because I liked the pattern better, although the red color was making my heart skip a beat or two.

I’d been looking for a runner for our entryway since we moved in and I wanted a bright color (blue or yellow?) with a bold pattern.

Sadly, I’d been unable to find anything bright in stores (brown is the most popular color for rugs, did you know that?) and some I found online were WAY too much for our bargain budget. Here’s one from Joss and Main that was originally $299, no longer available.

So, in this bright blue color for $29.00, I’d say this one from Target fit the bill!

Of course, this runner isn’t all that long so it doesn’t fit our entryway perfectly. It’s a big step up from the little brown rug we had there before, though! Here’s the before shot again, so you can remember:

And how it looks with the new rug:

I think the color is awesome, despite it being a really difficult room to photograph.

Just one more reason why Target is awesome. Just when you give up hope of finding an awesome rug for under $50, they surprise you when you aren’t even looking.

Have you found any unexpected treasures lately? Maybe you even found it at a garage sale? Tell me what’s making you smile today!
