You guys have all (probably) seen my beloved FRIENDS-inspired frame on the front door by now. It has popped up in several photos recently, including the one in which I showed you our new rug.

New Blue Rug 3

I told you guys all about finding and making the frame, here, so feel free to head back there to check it out if you missed it.

Friends frame magnets

I love that we found a cute little frame to save from the 50 cent bin at a thrift store in Branson, and I love that it’s inspired by the one on Monica’s door, not an exact copy.

But…that didn’t stop me from squealing with excitement when Hubs came up to me in our local thrift store and showed me this:

FRIENDS Frame

It’s the “real” FRIENDS frame, guys. And it was only 99 cents!

I know, right? Crazy.

So, we bought it. Of course.

And, okay, to be honest, it’s smaller than the one from the show, and made from rubber, so it isn’t even the “real” replica. Plus, the “real” frame didn’t say FRIENDS, obviously, but it’s still awesome. And I am super excited about it, and I love that Hubs found it for me. Of course.

When we got it home, I gave it a rub down with the magic eraser to get rid of as many scuff marks as I could. It’s sort of a rubbery material so the dirty parts just needed to be scrubbed off.

FRIENDS Frame 2

Luckily, it was really in good shape already and the magic eraser got off most of the rest so it looks pretty much new.

I’m amazed it’s so close in size to the one we already have. And you can see that our DIY version is not identical, but very much inspired-by the one from the show.

Both FRIENDS frames

We debated replacing the frame on our door with this one, but in the end, we decided against it. We like that we made our door frame ourselves, and that it’s “our door frame,” not the FRIENDS door frame.

Friends Frame

So, that means I get to find a new home for my little frame. I’m thinking it will most likely end up in my office used as a regular picture frame, but we’ll see. It could also go on a different door (the garage?) or even be turned into something else completely (some sort of wall art? other functional decor?)

Ideas? Suggestions? I think this little frame is one of the most exciting things we’ve found while thrifting (at least in my top 5 or so). What’s the best thing you’ve ever found?
